Beaufort Wine and Food is proud to announce its next community donation; $15,000 to go towards the hurricane relief effort being spearheaded by the Carteret County Public School Foundation.  The funds were raised over the two-day craft beer festival, Beaufort’s Brewin’, which was held September 28th and 29th. After much consideration, BWF board of directors decided that the beer festival should go on as scheduled, and that the festival should support hurricane relief in Carteret County. After reaching out to Tabbie Nance, communication director for Carteret County Public Schools, the BWF board was made aware of a current fundraising effort being matched by philanthropist Doris Buffett, longtime supporter of organizations that serve Carteret County and founder of The Sunshine Lady Foundation, The Learning By Giving Foundation and others. “We felt that with the $15,000 donation to the Carteret County Public School Foundation being turned in to a $30,000 donation, Buffett’s match was the way to go,” explains Lindsay Parker, BWF executive director. The Carteret County Public School Foundation is a 501-c(3) non-profit organization with an all-volunteer board, who donates 100% of the funds raised back to supporting the community.
