Sponsored by Amos Mosquitos & Fort Macon State Park, the Mosquito Run benefits Friends of Fort Macon. It features one of the most challenging courses in Eastern North Carolina.
The race starts and finishes in front of a restored 200-year-old fort. The course crosses natural wetlands and continues through an early growth maritime forest and thickets. The course then continues through pristine sand dunes on a hard pack trail. The 10K course steps up the challenge with a segment along the oceanfront beach.
