2023 Carteret County Veterans Day Parade

Downtown Morehead City, NC

11 a.m.

Join us to honor the more than 8,000 veterans of Carteret County and those across the nation at the Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 4. 

The Veterans Coalition of the Crystal Coast is spearheading the annual parade, which will start at 11 a.m. at 17th and Arendell streets in Morehead City. It will travel east to 5th Street.

Beaufort Bridge Run 5k & 1-Mile Dog Strut

120 Turner St., Beaufort, NC

The Beaufort Bridge Run is sponsored by the Beaufort Lions Club. The course takes participants going on and over the high-rise Gallants Channel Bridge and the Turner Street Bridge, offering magnificent views of the town and its waterways.

Newport Community Festival

Newport Community Park • 200 Howard Blvd., Newport, NC

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Newport Parks and Recreation Department will host the Newport Community Fest, a family-friendly event that includes a car show, food trucks, vendors and much more.

Jumble Sale

Beaufort Historic Site • 150 Turner Street, Beaufort, NC

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Beaufort Historic Site turns into a community market during the annual Jumble Sale, with art, handmade crafts, holiday gifts, pre-loved treasures, antiques, clothing, food and so much more!

 

November 23

Turkey Trot for the Trail

300 Taylor Notion Road, Cape Carteret, NC

8 a.m.

Calling all turkeys, pilgrims, Indians, and superheroes to enjoy a Thanksgiving morning walk or run with friends and family. The GYM Cape Carteret Aquatic & Wellness will host the annual Turkey Trot for the Trail. Get your costumes and flock ready to enjoy a beautiful morning together. Walk, run, or strut the 5k or 1-mile course.

This is not a timed event. It is just plain fun for family, and community. Register as a flock and your flock will be entered to win best dressed at the race!

A portion of the proceeds go to help complete the Cape Carteret Trail.

Small Business Saturday

The Saturday after Thanksgiving marks the official day to shop at your local small businesses. Downtown Morehead City is a partnered “Neighborhood Champion” that helps promote our downtown businesses on this day.

Emerald Isle Christmas Parade

If you’re in the area during the holiday season, you won’t want to miss the Emerald Isle Christmas Parade. The parade runs along Emerald Drive between Black Skimmer and Mangrove Drive.

Watch as amazing holiday-themed floats go by and catch a glimpse of Santa Claus at the end of the parade. Sponsored by the Town of Emerald Isle.

Santa on the Waterfront

John Newton Park • Front Street, Beaufort

1 to 3 p.m.

Bring your family to the Beaufort waterfront to welcome the arrival of Santa by fire truck, courtesy of the Beaufort Fire Department.

Santa will be in his workshop to greet children until 3 p.m. The event is hosted by the Beaufort Business Association.
